(Kurasu Specialty Coffee has since moved into its new premises at Waterloo Street. The new address is updated at the end of the post.)
Tucked away in district6 (a co-working and office space) within Odeon Towers is Kurasu Specialty Coffee, a brand that is being brought into Singapore from Kyoto, Japan.
Kurasu started off as a retailer in Kyoto, Japan selling coffee-related wares and offering a coffee subscription service where subscribers receive coffee beans/blends from all over the world on a monthly basis when subscribed to the service. Kurasu also operates its own cafe in Kyoto, Japan. Being located in a co-working space, Kurasu Specialty Coffee is a minimalistic coffee bar with that only serves up coffee as well as a Matcha Latte (which is listed as a signature drink), furnished with a few couches and window seating that is near the coffee bar area.
Going for my standard order at any cafe, the Flat White was well-pulled; smooth and creamy with a heavy body and a nutty and earthy flavour profile. They use a reservoir blend roasted by Single O in Australia, with beans from Ethiopia, Brazil and Colombia.
Being a simple coffee bar, Kurasu Specialty Coffee executes their craft well while being knowledgeable and willing to share their knowledge of coffee to their patrons. While not serving any form of food during our visit, it seems to be pretty fitting for its location considering the office crowd located within the co-working space itself would find it appropriate for a quick and convenient coffee fix or even a place to hold meetings with clients. A place to consider for a quiet cup of coffee delivered with finesse while doing some work in the area.
