Twenty Grammes – North Bridge Road

Yet another ice-cream parlour just found its way here. Twenty Grammes is a new ice-cream parlour that was into its second day of operations when we made our way there.

Apart from a variety of ice-cream flavours offered here, they also offer tea and coffee for beverages, as well as cakes (from Ply Baked Goods) and pies (from Windowsill Pies) here.

(Waffles with Macademia Ice-Cream)

Decided to skip on the cakes and pies because I had tried them before, so we went straight for a waffle with ice-cream. I had a go with a few non-chocolate flavours such as the Affogato (Coffee flavoured ice-cream with Vanilla) as well as the Honey-Scotch (Butterscotch with a touch of honey; my other dining partner would have loved this), but we settled for the Macademia. Their ice-cream was creamy and smooth, even being slightly sticky as well, and the Macademia flavour was reasonably sweet with specks of Macademia nuts thrown in for a crunch. Waffles were a wee bit on the dense side, and they use the classic egg and butter batter here. Was not particularly crisp, but was slight fluffy and rather decent actually.

Twenty Grammes may be having a concept similar to other ice-cream parlours around, but the location seems pretty decent, especially since it’s situated not too far away from Kampong Glam thus making it a good stopover on a hot day. The ice-cream is also of pretty decent quality as well, but they would need to find a way to differentiate themselves from the crowd to attract more patrons to patronize them.

  1. I agree that this looks very samey to the other ice cream shops in SG. Needs to have more brand identity, like Ice Queen or The Daily Scoop. Still, good write up and I will make sure I try it out soon!

Do try the Honeyscotch flavour while you are there; that was one flavour that was pretty worth the visit for me 🙂
