Niche Savourese is another of the few new cafes that had opened in June.
Located beside Creamier, it takes over the former premises of Soleil Chocolate. Besides cakes, scones and cakes, they do offer a hidden hot food menu featuring rotating dishes daily that is not listed on the board. Soda, coffee and tea are available for beverages, where coffee is made from Arabica beans, and teas are from 1872 Clipper Tea.
Pork Lasagne was the main of the day on our visit. More of a homely dish rather than one you would expect at an Italian restaurant, it was decent but not exactly too neat in its presentation. However, the melted cheese, cream, minced pork and tomato-based sauce came in perfect harmony as they balanced off against each other, despite the somewhat dry-looking top layer. Also worth a mention is the sesame dressing used for the salad, flavourful and fragrant as it exudes the aroma on the greens.
(Bacon Cheddar + Honey Cinnamon Scone)
Since it was a Boulangerie, we thought we would be missing the point if we did not order the bakes. They offer a large variety of scones here, ranging from the sweet to the savoury. We had the Honey Cinnamon which is crumbly and sweet at the base but filled with a honey and cinnamon mix in the middle. Bacon Cheddar was a savoury flavour that had chives and gave a moderately salty flavour that had a texture which is crispy on the outside, fluffy within. Despite containing bacon, the scones contained no meaty stench and the bacon bits created quite a chew.
During our visit at Niche Savourese, the service felt very homely, as though you are visiting a friend’s home as they were very sincere and hospitable. Despite them being new, they also have regular customers as well that is of all ages; all of them having created a bond with the owners as well. With offerings that are unique to themselves and a food menu that rotates regularly, expect the unexpected while you are here, but also a comfortable, homely atmosphere while enjoying a meal.
